USBHC869: Microprocessor bus USB Host Controller The USBHC869 is a Full Speed USB Host Controller designed to add USB Host capability to Microprocessors and Microcontrollers. The device measures just 4 x 4 mm is size thus consuming very little board space. The asynchronous parallel bus is compatible with common microprocessor bus architectures or can be attached to the port pins of a microcontroller. For maximum flexibility, the interface can be used in 8 bit or 16 bit mode and at any I/O voltage level of between 1.8 and 3.3V. The USBHC869 has an integrated crystal oscillator and a Phase Lock Loop module allowing a number of clocking options. A very low power shutdown mode is available to conserve power in battery powered applications. An attached USB device can still signal a Resume wakeup signal to the host processor when the USBHC869 is in shutdown. The USBHC869 has a fully USB1.1 compliant full speed (12Mb/s) transceiver together with integrated pull down resistors to further reduce the component count and save space.
